GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for graduation include student electives of at least one unit, or two half units, from the areas of business/technology, fine arts, and/or foreign language. Students graduating after September 15, 2006, must pass all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). Alternate ways to meet the Testing Requirements can be referenced at www.OhioAcademicsStandards.com Teachers prepare students for the Ohio Graduation Test the first two years of high school through a system of teaching and learning based on the Ohio academic content standards in math, science, English, and social studies. Students who do not achieve a passing score on any of the five parts of the Ohio Graduation Test, administered in March of the sophomore year, will be enrolled in an intervention class the following school year as a requirement of the NO Child Left Behind Education ACT. Any student not wanting to be enrolled in an intervention class must have approval from the high school principal. If approved by the principal, the student’s parents and principal must sign a waiver form. Commencement Exercises Eligibility: Students with completed requirements for graduation and who have been enrolled for course work at Circleville High School and attending class at Circleville High School for the duration of at least one complete semester of the school year of graduation shall be eligible for participation in commencement exercises. Students who have met all the credit requirements but have not passed the ninth grade proficiency tests or Ohio Graduation Test may participate in commencement exercises but will not receive a diploma. Valedictorian and Salutatorian: The Valedictorian and Salutatorian must have been in full-time attendance a minimum of four (4) semesters in Circleville High School, two semesters of which shall have immediately preceded graduation. If a tie exists for Valedictorian, both shall be declared Valedictorians and the next ranking student shall be declared Salutatorian. CREDIT LIMITATIONS All
students are required to schedule at least five class periods each semester.
Students in all grades 9-12 must register for a minimum of five credits
and maximum of eight credits each year. PICKAWAY
