Circleville City Schools recently celebrated a special gift from the Circleville Alumni Association with a dedication of the Bronze Tiger statue on campus. The dedication ceremony, held October 27th, 2024, brought together students, staff, alumni, and community members in recognition of this powerful new symbol of Tiger Pride.
The Alumni Association’s generous donation of the bronze tiger marks a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of Circleville City Schools. Standing prominently in the roundabout on Clark and Tiger Drives, the statue will welcome students and visitors alike, serving as a daily reminder of the rich history and unwavering community support that defines Circleville.
The new addition, paid for entirely by donations from Alumni, has already become a source of excitement and pride, capturing the attention of students and staff alike. This project has spanned years of planning and fundraising. It all came together after the selection of prominent sculptor, Alan Cottrill of Zanesville, Ohio. Cottrill sculpted a seven foot tall bronze tiger which stands on top of a platform of bronze books. The books show the names of top donors for the project while also symbolizing the District’s commitment to academic excellence. The Tiger stands atop a black granite platform marked with the words “Tiger Country” When all was said and done, the total installment stands fifteen feet tall!
Circleville City Schools extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Alumni Association for this lasting tribute, celebrating both the history and future of our Tigers. Donations are still being received for phase 2 of the project which will include landscaping around the Tiger. You can visit www.circlevillealumni.org for more information.
